Bill Brooks, the president of ESHI, has been in and around this industry for 30 years and was one of the first solar contractors on the Big Island. Over the years, Bill has been involved in the design, engineering and installation of various types of alternate energy systems and energy conservation devices.

His experience includes both commercial and residential systems i.e. hybrid stand-alone PV (solar electric) and hot water systems; grid-tie PV (solar electric) commercial systems; water supply systems; pool and spa solar and heat–pump systems; energy efficient lighting; waste-heat recovery, and commercial heat pumps.

This experience combined with living off-grid comfortably for almost 10 years, gives him a foundational understanding of energy conservation and sustainability. Bill has strong ties on the island. He knows and has connections to the most significant researchers on the cutting edge of energy efficient and sustainable technologies.
